The Nevada City Swimming Pool is open for the summer season and offers many programs for children, youth and adults. In addition to Open Swim times when the public is welcome to swim and enjoy a relaxing summer environment, there are swim lessons, a Junior Lifeguard program, birthday parties, private rentals, lap swim and water exercise classes.  The 2010 Program Guide has details about programs and registration.

Employment Opportunities
The Recreation Department has completed the hiring process for the 2010 season.  You can complete an Application and turn it in at City Hall, it will be kept on file until September 2010.

Lifeguard Training
The Lifeguard Training class offered jointly by Nevada City and Grass Valley took place during Spring Break (April 5-9, 2010).  If you are still interested in being certified as a lifeguard and missed our class, there are classes available through Auburn Recreation District  or you can check on the list provided by Northern California Aquatics Management Association for classes throughout Northern California.
