VETERAN'S BUILDING
Rental Information
The Nevada City Veteran's Building is becoming a popular venue for special events, social functions, fund raisers, seminars and meetings. The location in downtown Nevada City is ideal and the prices are reasonable. There have also been resent renovations to the building's kitchen. The Rental Brochure includes prices and descriptions of the rooms. For further information call 265-2496 ext.129. City Recreation Classes
The Nevada City Veteran's Building also serves as our local Community Center. The building is available for classes and programs that are open to the public. NCPR is looking for experienced instructors to lead leisure and enrichment classes for the residents of Nevada City and the surrounding area. Classes can include, but are not limited to: visual and performing arts, nature and science, Mommy & Me classes, health & wellness, financial planning, do-it-yourself, etc. If you are an experienced instructor,

Learn the simple, beautiful, rhythmic movements of Kuan Yin Standing and Retrun to Spring, Return to a Young Heart. these movements stimulate the flow of "Qi" or Vital Life Force. T'ai Chi Ch'uan
Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:00-7:00pm
Location: NC Veteran's Building
Classes are for beginning and continuing students. We practice Yang-style t'ai chi ch'uan, a soft-style martial art form which has been practiced for centuries by millions world-wide. The health benefits have been scientifically documented and include: improved balance, strength and flexibility; increased bone density; improved functioning of heart, lungs and digestive organs; improved sense of well-being and relaxation. Intuitive Way of the Tarot

SUMMER DAY CAMP
Children ages 4-10 had a great time at the Nevada City Day Camp, building rockets & robots, performing Peter Pan, learning to skateboard and making new friends. This was the first year that the camp was offered by Nevada City Parks & Recreation and we are excited about improving upon what we started in 2007.
Registration for Day Camp will take place at the Nevada City Pool; 6:00-8:00pm.

Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park is located just a short walk from downtown and offers a large variety of amenities. These include: Nevada City Pool, Seaman's Lodge, Baseball/Softball Fields, Soccer Field, Picnic & BBQ Areas, Horseshoes, Sand Volleyball, Petanque Court, Outdoor Amphitheater and Tennis Courts. New this year - Basketball Courts!

Programs in Pioneer Park
Cardio Tennis taught by Certified Personal Trainer, Dave Eubanks. 4 week sessions (May 21-November 9) at Pioneer Park tennis courts. Mondays 9-10am and Fridays 12-1pm. $15 per class/$18 drop-in rate. For ages 8 and up, any fitness level, pre-registration is required.
Hirschman's Pond and Diggins

Hiking Trails are open to the public at Hirshman's Pond. The City of Nevada City purchased this property with intentions of preserving the historic integrity and possibly creating a park and recreation programs at this location. The park is adorned with relics of Nevada City's mining history. Calanan Park is located in downtown Nevada City at the corner of Broad St. and Union St.
