                                                                                    530-265-2496 x119

At its April 14, 2021 meeting the Nevada City Council adopted a resolution reinstating

parking meter enforcement as well as the parking pass program effective May 1, 2021.  The city

suspended collection of parking meter fees on June 1, 2020 as a result of the economic impacts

due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the sale of parking permits.

Parking meter fees are 50 cents per hour.

Purchase of a parking permit can be made at Nevada City Hall located at 317 Broad Street

or my emailing:  [email protected].  Persons eligible for a parking pass are business

owners or employees in the downtown historic district of the city.   A parking permit will exempt

a vehicle from time zone parking limitations in specified areas.  Cost of a pass is $40 per month

with passes being sold in six-month increments at $240.00.  Passes expire June 30 and December

31 with the cost being prorated if purchased during the six-month period.

Permits are good between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Permits are issued to the registered owner of a vehicle and cannot be passed on to another

person.  Proof of employment as well as vehicle registration is required for purchase of a pass.

City Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00

 p.m. to 5 p.m.
